epee domination!

ok, maybe not Domination, but pretty darn good
saturday was the spring iu open
i fenced epee and saber
and apparently fencing epee for the past 4 months and not fencing saber for the past 3 has caused my saber skill to almost completely disappear
i did worse at this tournament than i ever have before, it was terrible...
i was still 7th of 15, but i only scored ONE touch in my last bout... disgraceful
fortunately that was balanced out by doing incredibly well in epee, getting 11th of 37 in an A2 tournament and earning myself an E! woohoo!
so now i'm rated in two weapons
i have very little interest in going for all 3 at this point, i'd like to practice saber a little more and try to get 2 weapons up in decent shape, Then i might think about adding foil

a car!

holy shitballs!
so yesterday i took the vibe to a mechanic to be checked and he said it was fine
and today i did something crazy
i got a loan and bought the car!
so now i'm like a real american... in debt
now in 4 years i will be the proud owner of a 2005 pontiac vibe
it's pretty cool, a maroonish read (not my ideal but whatev), the seats fold down so i can haul a bunch of stuff (one of the big plusses), it has a built in power inverter with an outlet so i can plug things like my laptop in (super fantastic!), decent fuel efficiency, little cubby holes spread around so i can put a few of the random supplies i'll be hauling around out of sight, a roof rack so i can haul around a kayak or whatever on top, and a 1500 lb towing capacity (if i get a towing setup for it) so i could potentially pull a sailboat
all in all it's pretty sweet
so i have hopped forward 12 years in the car i'm driving and i've switched from a sedan to a microvan
exciting stuff, but a little anxiety inducing

lexington and network consulting and fencing

woo!
i went in to my dad's work thursday to check out their network
it was abysmal... they desperately need a server network to get everything they're trying to do done
so i spent a couple hours talking with a couple of the employees trying to determine exactly what they need and then i talked to basham to see what he thought of everything so i could write up a quote tonight and get it to them tomorrow
pretty darn exciting
but before i went up i stopped by a used car place in town that i saw an 05 pontiac vibe at and gave it a test drive
it seems pretty nice and they had originally told me 12,9 for it but after i drove it they told me i could have it for 11,7 so i'll be thinking about that
i also got a hold of the pastor at the presbyterian church and he said it would be fine for the fencing club to use the fellowship hall, which means that i can now have adults in there too, and i think we're going to switch to saber instead of foil
as for this weekend...
i went to lexington to visit brittany and meet her new dog 'Finn'
we watched some movies and saturday night when to johnny rocco's for dinner (an olive garden-esque italian place) which was pretty good
sunday i got a couple more books to read from her (it's kinda like a library, but she chooses the books :)) and we went to panara and i drove home

weekend at home

i stayed home these last two weekends, which was a change from the last few months
last weekend i cleaned up my room (which it desperately needed)
this weekend i got a lot of work done on the company webpage and it looks great
now all i need is some content
so now i'm working on some of my other projects because mesii developments' anniversary is tomorrow and i'm feeling motivated

new years

drove down to lexington for new years
helped brittany pick colors and paint her living room/most of her bathroom
sifted through every movie in the 5.50 movie bin at walmart (there were some good ones in there) and had one person ask me if i worked there, and an old woman ask me if i had OCD, but i found a bunch of movies to buy, using all of my remaining 47.50 in walmart gift cards plus some
watched movies and hung out and went to a bar with a group of people for the countdown and drank and danced to the live music having a grand old time
there was a woman there who was HUGE in a red dress and fishnet stockings and a tattoo across the top of her chest that emphasized her giant cleavage even more, she reminded me of a waterbed
there was another woman who looked to be about 35 who was having all but sex with a guy sitting at the bar (like hopping on his lap and riding him while sticking her tongue down his throat) and also making out with jsut about anyone else she could grab
also about 10 minutes after midnight a couple of guys got in a fight with one tackling the other to the ground and fists flying right by our table
the staff didn't come over until a couple minutes after their friends had already broken it up, it was a pretty slow response time, but we got a good show
so the year is off to an entertaining start at least
