subaru and lafayettin

went to the subaru plant in lafayette on friday for a tour
i was told to meet someone in lebanon at 9 and then drive him up to meet another guy there, but there were serious communication issues so i ended up hanging out in a mcdonalds parking lot playing guitar and reading for an hour
we did the tour thing (so we'll be ready for this saturday when we go up to do an installation) and i went ahead and stayed around for the weekend
hung out with john a bit and zak a bit and nick a bit
bought some books from border's
ate at the new place by the cactus, back to nick's, back to the cactus for some piano bar fun, wandering around the countryside, another place, and bed
saturday morning (1pm) it was time for cracker barrel breakfast, more hanging out with zak and john, helping nick move (yay vibe with cargo room) dinner with john and nick at o'charley's, discussion on the derivative of the weight curves of various women, windows for some wonderful martinis (watermelontini: wonderful, mochatini: heaven, aztek: more than a little overboard on the spice) knickerbocker for a bit with live music (pretty good blues band) to the cactus Again, to another place (again.... still not impressed, i was able to enjoy myself, but it's still not my scene), to nick's apt where i consumed an excess of vodka and called some people (some of whom didn't seem to enjoy it as much as those that were still awake) and got to be 'mystery man' for awhile, then bed
sunday i got some panara with nick and then headed home
hopefully the job on saturday won't distract from the coming weekend too much

grandma's new house

modifications that need to be made to the car (to date): trash can installed behind center console, switch installed to turn off headlights (if the car is on and the parking brake off you CAN'T turn off the flippin headlights (and once the parking brake is set you have to leave it set and turn the car off and on again for them to stay off until you release the parking brake)), find out about disabling seatbelt alarm (i ALWAYS wear my seatbelt, but i will put it on when i am good and ready and don't need you to remind me)
my grandma bought a new house (after living in the old one for untold decades) something smaller and more managable (and, depending on your point of view, conveniently close to my parent's house) so she needed help getting it ready and a couple of my uncles came into town this last weekend and added to the continuing efforts of my dad to get everything ready at her old place to sell and her new place to move in
i wasn't doing anything pressing so after fencing on saturday i went over to help paint the bedroom and with two people 'rollering' and me doing trim we were able to finish in a few hours (after running around for an hour gathering extra supplies
now i guess she'll be moving in soon
hopefully i'll be moving soon as well

brittany visit

brittany's spring break started friday so she came up to visit for the weekend before galavanting around elsewhere
friday we hung out a bit chatting until the wee hours
saturday there was lots of sleeping in (ahhhh) and then we went to watch '300' which was good, it was driven by blood and boobs and they were able to do an excellent job with the graphics and camera angles and effects, but at the same time it was not the GREAT movie it could have been with jsut a Little more plot/character development (specifically, xerxes needed some rounding)
then we got dressed up a bit and went to the R Street Bistro which is a pretty nice place (Excellent for bedford...) and enjoyed some wonderful food
after more wee hour chatting we slept and got up in time to go see 'Bridge to Terabithia'

let me set the scene a little
in the theater
approx 25 other people in there
average age: approx 17
median age: approx 8
gender split: 3 males (excluding me)(all there with their little girls) approx 22 females
so it was an entertaining, but it was definitely a little girl movie, and while i do enjoy chick flicks, it was a bit too young for me
so after that was some Very wee hour chatting until it was time to go to work in the morning and she left

uneventfulness

i've been staying home the past few weekends to save money and teach fencing and do math hw etc. so it has been terribly exciting here lately
i've finished 3 diffeq assignments so far (out of 11)
had 4 fencing lessons along with 2 saturday practices and people seem to be picking it up pretty quickly so that's good
i'd really like to have a summer session as well, but i still don't know what i'm going to be doing this summer
i made a car payment so in 47 more i'll own it
other than that, lots of reading and pondering and sleeping and the like
